When you open a page
To deliver a page, your browser necessarily sends the server your IP address and the usual details of the request: the address of the page, the time, and the name and version of your browser. The server uses them only to send you the page and does not write them to an access log, so they are not kept afterwards.
Only when something goes wrong, for example a page that cannot be delivered, the server’s error log may contain the IP address of that request. That log is limited in size, overwrites its oldest entries, and is read only to fix faults.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in delivering this website securely and keeping it working.
Hosting
The server is rented from Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Straße 32a, 81549 München, Germany, which processes this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
The light/dark switch
If you use the switch at the top of the page, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (under yeysus-theme) so the next page opens the same way. It never leaves your device, is stored only because you asked for it (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG), and is removed when you clear this site’s data in your browser.
If you write to yeysus@gmail.com, I use your address and your message only to answer you, and delete them when they are no longer needed for that. The mailbox is a Gmail account, so your email is also processed by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, under Google’s privacy policy. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR when your message is about a contract.
Links to other websites
The project cards and the About section link to other websites, such as LinkedIn and X. Nothing from them is loaded until you follow a link; from then on, their privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- know what data about you is processed (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17),
- have its processing restricted (Art. 18),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20),
- object to its processing (Art. 21).
An email to yeysus@gmail.com is enough. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one responsible here: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, datenschutz-berlin.de.
